Indie Beauty Expo
Unlike most fashion and beauty events, Indie Beauty Expo isn’t geared towards consumers, but rather toward independent brands. This unique event celebrates individualism, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovation in beauty. It’s also a chance for consumers to find and support the most beautiful versions of themselves. The event’s mission is to create a community for indie beauty brands and connect them with buyers and retailers.
The first Indie Beauty Expo featured 80 independent brands. The second edition is expected to feature between 160 and 200 indie brands, with about 200 to 230 total. The Indie Beauty Expo’s website says early registration is now open for brands on the waiting list. As of this writing, 60 brands have already registered to participate. The expo is open to consumers and press. A full list of participating brands can be found on the Indie Beauty Expo’s website.

Aveda team for NYFW
The Aveda team for NYFW includes many talented beauty professionals who work backstage on the models. These artists come from many different places within the Aveda network and apply the makeup and hair of the models. In addition to the backstage makeup and hair services, Aveda also provides hair products for the models. Jon Reyman, an Aveda Advanced Academy graduate, was among the team. During NYFW, he provided hair care products for the models, as well as the backstage team.
The Aveda team provided hair and makeup services for the A Detcher Fall/Winter 2018 presentation, which took place during New York Fashion Week. The team worked together, with the help of Global Artistic Director Janell Geason. Reyman led the Aveda Team and created an intricate veiled hair look for the model’s show. The Aveda team was on hand backstage at the show to compliment the designers’ hairstyles.
